<Client> 8 Wonder Asia <Date> 2006 <Location> Sentosa Harry’s Island , Singapore Restricted competition for the construction of a mixed-use complex including hotels, a theme park, casino and tourist accommodation on Sentosa Island, opposite Singapore. The competition is currently under evaluation. Our role focused on the traffic for the masterplan and the architectural design of the complex done by a complete and multidisciplinary design team, including Arup, Gensler, Arquitectonica and Siemens. Traffic was a key theme in the masterplan, both because of the major draw of the functions and the difficult and limited connections between the island and the mainland. Systematica’s consultancy to the design team regarded the whole traffic system including public and private transport as well as parking and pedestrian mobility with the aim of the complete environmental sustainability of the settlement. An innovative, new, environmentally friendly transport system was studied for the new structure. The consultancy followed all the phases of the design of the masterplan, from the concept design and the guidelines to the detailed geometrical and functional verifications of the individual buildings. <Back to Activities>Consultancy> |
