<Client> STT <Date> 2006-2007 <Partner> Foster + Partners Moscow Tower is a mixed-use project, incorporating apartments, hotel, office and leisure space. Systematica was in charge of the vehicular and pedestrian accessibility, service and car park strategy of the development. The Tower is located within a complex road network that guarantees a high level of access from all points of the city therefore the first phase of the work was made up of a wide-area analysis to understand the routes of access and the positioning of the vehicle accesses. A needs analysis of the parking demand has been carried out and, through the positioning of the various parking areas, of the optimum management of the car park. A second phase, based on the Level of Service system, developed the parking layout to optimum traffic circulation and the maximum efficiency between parking spaces and free available surface. The solution proposed for the internal layout of the car park is four floors for the public, two for residential and hotel and the rest of the floors for office only. For the vertical circulation within the car park a system of continuous linear ramps has been designed that will go along the entire perimeter of the building. Each floor will be served by a double system of ramps for entering and exiting thereby allowing maximum flexibility. This phase was focused also on all the various aspects of the car park design, from the automated management system of parking, which, given the complex nature of the building, needed to be fully integrated and to finishes which, in line with all the other components of the car park, focused on defining components with an optimum quality/price ratio. The pedestrian access dynamics to the tower were analysed using Legion pedestrian simulation software with the aim of evaluating the working of the design scheme. This analysis helped to verify technical elements capacity and therefore people access reliability and overall comfort. <Back to Activities>Consultancy> |
