Planning
<Client> Ministry of Foreign Affairs <Date> 1990-1993 <Location> Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic The Traffic Plan for the capital of the Dominican Republic was developed at the same time as the Master Plan was being drawn up so that the assets and infrastructure of the territory could be matched in the best way possible. Existing data was compared, integrated and updated in a long and complex process that involved detailed surveys. Any information that was not available was substituted with an appropriate gravity model. Then an articulated multimodal model was composed and the interventions needed to improve accessibility in the urban and metropolitan areas were identified. The projections for the traffic demand came from correlating the urban interventions intended in the Master Plan and comparing them with different hypotheses. These ranged from the “trend” scenario to the “no intervention” scenario, from one of rapid economic growth to the more conservative moderate economic growth. <Back to Activities>Planning> |
