<Project>Milan to Bologna High-Speed Railway

Feasibility study for the introduction of a stop on the High-Speed Railway line to serve the mid-Po Valley area.

The aim of the study was to verify the feasibility of the new running proposals for the High-Speed Railway company (TAV-Italferr, June 1996) and the system of interconnections between the high-speed line and the historical railway line (direction Emilia and direction Tirreno-Brennero). This included all the simulations related to the different programmes suggested for the long-distance travellers service.

The possible distribution of journeys by types of transport in terms of the general cost of transport was obtained from the verifications carried out. This was done by comparing the values observed for the excercise programme fraemworkand for the nonstop framework, in terms of passengers aboard and passengers per kilometre.

The results, sorted by areas of origin, enable the level of satisfaction for each area of origin to be identified and the identification of the best location for the Medio-padana stop.
