Planning
<Client> Lombardy Region, Italy <Date> 2000 As part of the Regional Transport Master Plan, Lombardy Region undertook research into the current and potential demand for the regional railway services. As well as the specific activities related to analysing the demand and its elasticity (reconstructed through declared preferences surveys) the study constructed a complex multimodal graph of the whole Region and the most significant surrounding areas. Even though the OD matrix of the graph was relatively reliable, the graph was calibrated using numerous route tests and was useable to construct the general cost of transport matrices. From this the modal choice model was made. This enabled analyses linked to the future service infrastructure, the types of services offered, ticket integration, construction of interchange car parks and the introduction of parking pricing policies. <Back to Activities>Planning> |
