S-PARAMICS

S-Paramics, by SIAS Ltd, is one of the most modern PC software systems for road traffic flow analysis. It simulates the individual components of traffic flow and congestion, and presents its output as a real-time visual display (both two and three-dimensional) for traffic management and road network design. It has been under development for more than a twenty years by SIAS's traffic and transportation engineers working in collaboration with the Company's in-house software group.
From a simple road network description, a complete and detailed traffic model can be implemented which considers features such as bus operations and traffic signal settings, driver behavioural characteristics and vehicle kinematics. This provides an accurate representation of the variable circumstances that lead to congestion in all types of road network. S-Paramics offers a wide range of statistical and numerical reports ranging from extended area analysis to tracing individual vehicles in every moment on the road network.
S-Paramics is unique in providing dynamic assignment over road networks of unlimited size. No other traffic flow modelling system offers the same level of functionality and features. S-Paramics enables non-experts such as councillors and the public to interactively test "What if" scenarios and immediately see the results in terms of real-time traffic flows and congestion. The most widely used microsimulation system in the UK, S-Paramics brings new standards to traffic flow modelling.

AUTOTRACK

AutoTrack, by Savoy Computing Services Ltd, is a powerful tool for swept path analysis for all types of steering vehicles, from the cars to the aircrafts. It permits continuous control of their manoeuvres guaranteeing high design quality – including junction and roundabout analysis – and the most efficient layout of organized spaces like shopping centres, logistic platforms, freight yards, intermodal centres, petrol forecourts and service areas.
The user simply needs to select a vehicle from the existing libraries and “guide” it (with a mouse or on a predefined path). AutoTrack permits continuous control over vehicle movements, interrupting any manoeuvres that are not permitted and evaluating the possible turning manoeuvres depending on the speed. So, AutoTrack analyses the swept path for the vehicle.
Very powerful, easy to learn and extremely simple to use, AutoTrack makes design more secure and enables an unprecedented level of accuracy and precision in designs. With built-in design vehicles, support for complex user-defined vehicles, multiple drive modes, customisable presentation options and compatibility with the leading CAD systems, AutoTrack is used daily by thousands of companies and engineers around the world!

LEGION

Legion, by Legion Ltd, is a software tool that can simulate the movements of thousands of pedestrians. Generated through years of research conducted on human behaviour, the programme enables sophisticated simulations to be applied to the design process. It offers an innovative method intended to improve structures characterised by the simultaneous presence of large numbers of people. Ongoing studies, combined with the development of unique scientific software, have helped make Legion a leader in pedestrian simulation.
Legion has been used by manufacturing company to develop projects around the world, not only for existing settings but also during the design phase. It has been applied in studies on railway and underground stations, airports and shopping centres, stadiums, sports complexes and Olympic parks in Europe, Asia and Australia. These projects have demonstrated the enormous potential offered by Legion.
Systematica is the first user and permitted promoter of Legion in Italy. Careful comparative analysis between pedestrian simulation programs has convinced Systematica that Legion is the best instrument for conducting studies and evaluations on the pedestrian flows generated in numerous settings, such as railway and underground stations, airports, stadiums and shopping centres.

ROTOR

ROTOR, by Studio OBx, is the only Italian software, updated with the new Ministerial Decree 19/04/2006, that allows one to verify, design (in an AutoCAD environment) and plan any roundabout intersections.
ROTOR, that is the first Italian software to be dedicated to the design of roundabout intersections, is a simple programme, but very powerful and complete, that can help to face road design in a simple manner: an indispensable instrument for territorial planning. ROTOR was studied to make the planning of roundabout intersections easy and fast. ROTOR, in just a few simple steps, carries out the dimensioning and functional verification of a roundabout intersection. ROTOR processes the functional model of the roundabout intersection and plots a simulation of the reference performance magnitudes, such as the length of the traffic queues and the delays of vehicles entering the roundabout, as required by the new standards in force.
ROTOR CAD is a complementary module of the ROTOR software, but at the same time, it represents an independent application that is dedicated to the graphic and geometrical design of roundabout intersections. ROTOR CAD processes roundabout intersections with up to 7 different arms and defines each entrance in detail through specific parametric magnitudes. It can define a roundabout in only a few and simple steps.
