Bahrain Pearling Testimony is Shortlisted for Aga Khan Award

Bahrain Shortlisted for Aga Khan

The Bahrain Pearling Testimony project, a World Heritage, is shortlisted for the 2017-2019 cycle of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The regeneration project in Muharraq was construed with the aim to allow visitors to discover the historical “Pearling Path” while conserving and adapting ancient structures to contemporary needs along the route.

Systematica, appointed by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities back in 2016, carried out a comprehensive study for setting a multi-modal mobility strategy in view of the expected increase of attractiveness of the area as a result of the regeneration project envisaged. Work also focused on studying current and future parking demand and setting strategies for increasing and redistributing parking provisions along the project area.
