Kuala Lumpur: My Town Shopping Mall Works Nears Its End

Sys-News_16-01-08

My Town Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur is months away from its opening in the second half of 2016. The Boustead-Ikano joint venture project is a 100,000 sqm shopping centre located adjacent to the latest IKEA opened recently along the Jalan Cochrane road in the south eastern part of Kuala Lumpur.

Systematica had worked alongside the entire design team very early in the design and planning process on parking and access issues, implementing complex modelling tools for validating design layout and key decisions in terms of access system, infrastructure design and internal circulation. Systematica contributed to major changes within the project, mainly through introducing a direct connection between upper and lower floors through a monumental double helix ramp, which is expected to improve internal connectivity and provide a high Level of Service performance and high comfort levels for users seeking for a parking place among the 6,000+ parking stalls provided.

Systematica continues to provide support during the construction process on designing and implementing the wayfinding system and signage design, in collaboration with Penguin Cube. Work stems from Systematica’s deep and proven knowledge in pedestrian flow analysis and spatial analysis where both aspects weave and feed into the wayfinding planning process to ensure easy navigation within the complex multi-storey retail structure and guarantee a coherent and clear interface between the communication system and users for a seamless and smooth experience.
