Systematica for Jumeirah Central Development in Dubai

Sys-News_16-09-16

Systematica’s involvement in the world-class development, Jumeirah Central, dates back to 18 months from today when Michael Ellis and Tim Magill, 5+Design, invited Systematica to join their team for working on what will become in a 5-year time the largest walkable development in Dubai, with the highest concentration of indoor and on-street retail surface area in the Region.
Systematica worked together with 5+Design, Hollywood based Lead Architectural firm, for Dubai Holding and Al Sufouh Development Companies, alongside a number of specialist consultants.
Systematica worked for a period of one year and a half on both Concept Master Plan (CMP) and Detailed Master Plan (DMP) contributing significantly to the definition of the transportation network. During the first phase, Systematica focused mainly on enforcing and integrating the Public Transportation within the overall transportation network. During the second phase, Systematica shifted its focus to tailor-plan and design the pedestrian network through detailed pedestrian studies.
Appropriate modelling tools were further deviced for validating major planning decisions, such as block sizes, functional distribution, ground floor activation strategies, mid-block connections, road sections, climate-controlled and shaded paths, as well as several other design principles that are expected to enliven the mixed-use development. Systematica will continue to support the design team until the end of the DMP phase.
