In recent days, we visited the construction site of the new Milan Bovisa Campus, where Systematica has been commissioned by the Politecnico di Milano to develop the final and executive design of the mobility infrastructure.

This is under the direction of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, responsible for the master plan and architectural design of the buildings, and in collaboration with LAND, J+S, and several other professionals.

The mobility and infrastructure project we have developed focuses on maximising space for pedestrians and cyclists and enhancing the resilience of the infrastructure through the integration of green and grey components. These improvements boost its response to climate risk while ensuring high-quality spaces and liveability for future students.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The new campus will house university classrooms, civic schools, start-ups, and student accommodation, as well as a large urban park that will be returned to the city, contributing to the regeneration of the entire neighbourhood.

This project is crucial for Milan’s efforts to regenerate abandoned areas and advance towards a more liveable and sustainable city. Systematica is proud to participate in this project and contribute to the creation of these future public spaces for both the student community and the wider city.
