UX Mobility Book Presentation: Deep Dive into the Panel Discussion
On October 29, we presented our new book, UX Mobility, at Assimpredil Ance through a workshop for students and young professionals, followed by a panel discussion that was recorded.
UX Mobility, developped in collaboration with our research foundation, Transform Transport, explores how user experience (UX) design can transform urban mobility planning by moving beyond one-size-fits-all solutions to incorporate the needs and preferences of many diverse users.
The event opened with greetings from Giovanni M. Bottini, followed by Giovanni Deleone. Lamia Abdellafattah presented the UX Mobility book, which she co-edited along with Rawad Choubassi and Filippo Bazzoni.
The panel featured mobility experts, academics, researchers, and real estate professionals, offering a multidisciplinary perspective on the future of cities. Speakers included Giovanni M. Bottini, Diego Deponte, and Barbara E. A. Piga (Politecnico di Milano).
The discussion, moderated by Antonello Andrea D’Egidio, was grounded in the scientific methods explored in the book and reflected on how UX-based approaches can enhance mobility planning, user engagement, and the overall urban experience.
Key topics included how Systematica and Transform Transport integrate UX principles into consultancy practices and mobility strategies; the importance of user engagement and co-design in achieving effective and sustainable urban mobility systems; and insights on innovative tools developed by Politecnico di Milano and Università degli Studi di Milano that enable real-time, participatory urban planning focused on the user experience.
