The Academic City Project Kick-Off Meeting

On January 30, Systematica was in Yerevan, Armenia, for the kick-off meeting of the Academic City project, an ambitious initiative by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the Academic City Fund to reshape the higher education landscape.
The plan envisions bringing together 26 universities, currently dispersed across the city, into a unified campus on the outskirts of Yerevan.
This modern academic hub is designed to foster synergies between higher education and research institutions. It will feature not only academic facilities but also residential areas, sports venues, theaters, a concert hall, the National Museum, and commercial spaces—creating a vibrant, multifaceted environment.
Systematica is part of the team led by gmp von Gerkan, Marg and Partners Architects, that is currently developing the Concept Masterplan. Our role will focus on providing support during the schematic design phase by defining and validating access and mobility strategies for the Masterplan. Other partners include RSUP – Rabe Strategic Urban Planning and TUM International GmbH.
Looking forward to contributing to this transformative project!
