EUSAIR#4

On March 30th, 2021 Systematica joined the 14th Meeting of the Thematic Steering Group for Pillar 2 – Connecting the Region (TRANSPORT sub-group) under the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR). The participants were EUSAIR TSG2 (Transport) Members, Representatives of EU Commission services, EUSAIR Facility Point and the project team.

As part of the team headed by PTSCLAS Spa and together with TPS Pro Srl, Systematica was recently awarded the Transport Master Plan of the European Strategy for the Adriatic Ionian Region (EUSAIR) project, which includes maritime and river transport as well as the comprehensive system of land transport networks (rail and road), airports, sustainable accessibility and integration of urban nodes and of the tourist centers.

The Transport Master Plan, which recognises the major role of transport in the development of every modern society as a means for economic development and a prerequisite for achieving social and regional cohesion is intended to set the basis for a well-designed and successfully applied transport policy to provide strategic direction for the development of the multi-modal transportation systems up to time horizons 2030 and 2050.

In light of the vision and the related high-level objectives, the Master Plan envisages the delivery of transport systems which are inclusive, safe, integrated, reliable and efficient for people and freight and able to support attractive urban, rural and coastal environments.
