Ex Isotta Fraschini’s Urban Redevelopment in Saronno
New renderings of the Ex Isotta Fraschini’s urban redevelopment project by Giuseppe Gorla of Saronno Città dei Beni Comuni were revealed on July 11!
This innovative project will feature:
– A central park with new green spaces
– A high-level educational institution
– An international cycling hub
– Residential area with 500 apartments and local shops
The redevelopment of historic buildings, including the former Bernardino Luini and the public space next to the station, has been a particular focus.
The aim is to create an environmentally friendly community that prioritizes pedestrians and cyclists while providing innovative solutions for energy savings and environmental sustainability.
Systematica has partnered with Cino Zucchi Architetti on this project, focusing on public works, squares, mobility, and pedestrian paths. We also implement dynamic microsimulation models to verify mobility strategies and assess vehicle impacts.
The Municipality of Saronno’s approval of the Integrated Intervention Plan (PII) will mark a significant step towards starting the construction work.
Other partners include Paolo Pomodoro Architetto, Francesco Radrizzani Agronomo e IDROGEA SERVIZI SOCIETA’ DI INGEGNERIA, Geologica, Manens S.p.A., and Paolo Colombo
