Alessandro Vacca is a transport engineer working with Systematica since 2010. He is Senior Consultant and Project Manager and has broad knowledge of transportation planning and policy assessment and appraisal, stemming from an involvement in a wide variety of transport and mobility-related projects. In 2015 Alessandro Vacca earned his PhD in Land Transport Engineering, focusing in route choice behaviour and modelling through the use of Big Data.
Alessandro Vacca is specialised in transport modelling and master planning, including the development of comprehensive transport demand models with sound understanding of travel demand behaviour statistics, supported by the knowledge of various software package such as CUBE (Citilabs) and PTV Package (VISUM, VISSIM). These skills have been developed through the implementation of a range of multi-modal models, including for example the National Transport Model for Malta, the Road and Transportation Model for West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the Model of North-South Railway Line in Mozambique. He is also experienced in traffic and parking assessment and micro-simulation, through his involvement in several projects around the world as CityLife (Milan, Italy), KL118 Tower (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and the traffic and parking study for the Simferopol Airport (Russia). At Systematica, he has been also involved in several projects of pedestrian mobility, carried out at international level: Expo 2015 (Milan, Italy), Thakher City (Makkah, KSA), Jumeirah Central and Business Bay (Dubai, UAE), and Al Wedyan (Riyadh, KSA).
