RFI Strategic Framework – Frosinone Station

RFI-Strategic-Framework2

The RFI (Rete Ferrrovie Italiane) unit “Direzione Stazioni” presented the revamping project of the railway station of Frosinone, one of the first initiatives of RFI’s strategic integrating plan which Systematica is supporting with respect to multi-modal accessibility, transport assets dimensioning and intelligent infrastructure deployment within a multi-year consultancy framework.

RFI strategy envisages that existing railways stations act as intermodal node and services hub, well-integrated within the urban ecosystem and capable of positively influencing larger redevelopment of urban districts. With more than 2.200 stations to retrofit and 1.5 billion of annual passengers, the first set of top-priority 600 stations have been identified throughout the entire national territory.

For each station, Systematica provides a wide array of multi-scale consultancy services: at the urban scale, identifying and reinforcing the multi-modal accessibility system and key urban connections of the station; at a master plan scale, identifying criticalities and proposing design options to optimize the layout of the surrounding areas and the services provided by paying careful attention to the quality of the public realm; at a station-level scale, analysing the architectural layout to assess the operational level of transit areas and identify the proper local of new urban services and functions.
