Safety Action Plan Underway in Fairfield

Systematica’s New York team is supporting the Town of Fairfield, CT in advancing its Safety Action Plan as part of the USDOT Safe Streets for All initiative, working in collaboration with Karp Strategies and Street Plans.

The project began with an in-depth site visit to better understand Fairfield’s mobility patterns and align data-driven analysis with real-world conditions. From dense transit hubs to near-rural areas and quiet coastal neighborhoods, the town’s diversity calls for tailored, forward-looking solutions.

In parallel, the engagement process is actively shaping the plan. During the first public workshop, more than 65 participants contributed over 200 insights on street safety across Fairfield.

Residents worked with district maps to identify challenges and opportunities at key intersections, bringing local knowledge and lived experience into the planning process. These perspectives are central to the development of Fairfield’s Vision Zero strategy, complementing technical analysis with on-the-ground insight.

The Safety Action Plan will continue to evolve through Summer 2026, with a town-wide survey and additional public workshops planned to further refine priorities and solutions.
