UNESCO World Heritage Site in Bahrain: Mobility Plan by Systematica
Systematica was recently appointed by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities with the development of the first comprehensive mobility study for the town of Muharraq, on the northern island of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The town of Muharraq hosts the Bahrain Pearling Trail consisting in an ancient pathway connecting the main historical buildings of the town, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, under the name “Pearling, Testimony of an Island Economy” in 2014.
The development of the Pearling Testimony Site started in 2012 and within this framework and in line with the Pearling Testimony’s urban development strategy, a comprehensive mobility study is envisaged.
Systematica will be in charge of the conception of a tailored mobility plan including pedestrian mobility improvement, public transport, parking strategy and traffic management solutions.
