Montepellier, Polygone Shopping Mall: Pedestrian Mobility Study by Systematica

Systematica is appointed for undergoing a detailed pedestrian analysis of the Polygone shopping centre in Montpellier (France), as part of the ongoing comprehensive renovation project of the shopping centre.

The renovation project provisions a structural uplift of the historical building and city landmark, taking a step ahead of previous renovation initiatives carried out in the 1990s. The renovation project is expected to be completed in spring 2019. The shopping centre is considered as an integral piece of the city and is directly connected to the historical heart of Montpellier on one side and to the Antigone neighbourhood on the other. It comprises of 50,000 sqm of GFA distributed on three floors with 4 floors of parking (2000 parking places).

Systematica will conduct the study in a total duration of three months and will focus on analysis of the current situation, assess the current and future quality of movement, and improve vertical and horizontal circulation.
