Sys-News_14-07-18

Triennale di Milano, on behalf of Comune di Milano (Milano Municipality) organised a design consultation on the future of Piazza Castello, recently closed to traffic and turned into a car-free area. Triennale di Milano invited some of the most jutting architectural firms of Milan and asked them to propose ideas for the requalification of Piazza Castello: Matteo Fantoni Studio and Systematica are currently collaborating to the definition of a design strategy and proposal.

The whole process aims at involving all the stakeholders, individuals and institutions, being based on the principle of participatory design.  On July, 17th Matteo Fantoni Studio and Systematica met the residents and other people during an open meeting held at Expo Gate.

The principal objective of Atelier Castello is to provide Comune di Milano with a range of design strategies/proposals to be adopted for the requalification of the area, either temporary and linked to the coming EXPO 2015 – Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life or permanent.
