Systematica Shortlisted with KCAP for “Officine FFS” in Bellinzona

Systematica is shortlisted together with the team led by KCAP for the second phase of international competition of “Officine FFS” Redevelopment Project in Bellinzona, Switzerland.
The competition was launched by the Municipality of Bellinzona, in partnership with Canton of Ticino and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS). The team is led by KCAP and composed of Systematica, Studio Vulkan, Pessina Architekten and Tocchetti Architetti e Ingegneri.
5 teams are shortlisted among the 10 initial participants to work for four months on their proposals. Diego Deponte and Alessandro Vacca, respectively Partner and Project Manager at Systematica, joined the kick off meeting of the competition on October 2nd.

The aim of the competition is to design the redevelopment of the 120,000 sqm “Officine” area located next to the main railway station. Following the relocation of Federal Railways maintenance and construction warehouses, the city of Bellinzona will have the opportunity to reshape the urban structure of the city centre and to support economic development with benefits for the city and the whole region.
