Simone Grasso joined Systematica in 2021 after gaining a Master’s Degree in City & Technology at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Spain.
He is an urban planning consultant, acting mainly as Computational Urban Designer and GIS analyst, dealing with urban analysis and visualizations, mainly related to spatial analysis, mobility strategies and project performances.
He has been involved and is currently contributing to a number of international projects in Europe, Asia and Middle East, working at different scales, from territorial studies, to masterplans and complex buildings mobility strategies.
He’s proficient with a wide array of specialistic software, such as Rhino and Grasshopper3D, QuantumGis, Adobe suite and AutoCad.

He worked as an urban designer in Italy, dealing with masterplans and small-scale projects and GIS analyst in Spain, for a city government entity in charge of mobility projects.

Simone Grasso has been involved as a teaching assistant since 2018 at the University of Catania, where he co-founded and coordinated the Interdisciplinary research lab OpenSourceLab for the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (UNICT).

He is involved in research studies oriented towards a combined data-driven and human-centered approach to urban development, based on informed decisions through the use of both digital analysis and citizen participation.
