Located in Kuala Lumpur, the PNB 118 Tower Project is a 118-storey building comprising a total of more than 400,000 sqm of office, hotel and retail functions. The Tower will be the tallest in the country and one of the tallest in the World, exceeding 600m in height, and representing one of the City’s landmarks in less than a decade from now. Systematica is appointed to provide consultancy services on roadway network traffic analysis, parking engineering and pedestrian flow analysis.

The Project is considered of high complexity, with more than 15,000 persons that are expected to daily transit, live and work in the Project; more than 7,000 parking places designated for different land use and facilities are provisioned. A complex forecast model is prepared with the aim of incorporating all mobility dynamics within a single framework, for attaining balance between all types of transportation modes for all types of users and user groups. Ad-hoc simulation models for both pedestrian and vehicular flows are prepared, taking into consideration different times of the day and stress-generating occasional occurrences, mainly induced by the nearby historical stadia, Merdeka and Negara, with consistent seating capacity of around 20,000 and 10,000, respectively.

Consultancy services went hand-in-hand with different trades and design disciplines where output was directly incorporated mainly in parking floors and areas where high traffic volumes are expected such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) connections and Tower lobby.
