Riviera Galleria, located at The Ellinikon coastal front of Athens, is the winning proposal of the team led by Kengo Kuma and Associates for the design competition initiated by Lamda Development. The 22,000 sqm project will offer visitors multifaceted, high-end shopping of leading brands, high-level gastronomy, and entertainment experiences, including a wide range of cultural and recreational events.
Systematica developed the multi-modal access strategy, parking strategy and design layout, internal circulation, wayfinding, and vertical connections strategies to ensure a high-quality user experience.
Decision Making Points
The mobility proposal ensured a clear and efficient circulation and access system, especially for pedestrians. Traffic calming measures were implemented on the ground floor to ensure safe access from parking floors to the building. In addition, the mobility proposal included the implementation of cycling lanes and bike parking to encourage and facilitate the shift towards active mobility.
Vertical Circulation and Daytime Activities
The logistics strategy provided for the project ensured a high-quality service to accommodate maximum flexibility for the tenants while keeping the process entirely invisible to the visitors.
