M4 Metro Line Opening

On October 12, Milan celebrated the inauguration of the fully automated M4 metro line, connecting Linate Airport in the east to San Cristoforo railway station in the southwest. Spanning 15.2 km and featuring 21 stations, this line will be a game-changer for residents and visitors, offering faster and more sustainable travel across the city.

At Systematica, we collaborated closely with PROGER S.p.a. and Metro4Milano on this transformative project. Our contributions included advanced pedestrian simulation analysis for the architectural design of all stations, as well as the definition and validation of temporary traffic schemes during the construction phase.
