First Integrated Logistics Bonded Zone in Riyadh

Integrated Logistics Bonded Zone (ILBZ)

On 25 July 2019, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) presented the first Integrated Logistics Bonded Zone (ILBZ) adjacent to the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, KSA. Systematica played a key role in this project, covering master planning and transportation engineering aspects together with a multi-disciplinary team led by DG Jones and SKP. The ILBZ will be the first of many projects aimed at providing an unprecedented offering in both KSA and the region as a whole to create a fully bonded, flexible, sustainable and high-quality public realm logistics development.

The future offerings of ILBZ will be tailored to multinational companies with activities ranging from warehouse and fulfilment, inventory management, maintenance and repairs, staging, testing, and assembly. The master plan was designed to ensure a flexible, modular and environmentally-sensible master plan anchored on sound planning principles to adapt to market changes and allow for a variety of tenant space requirements.

By creating the ILBZ, the country is taking a major step towards translating the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 into reality by leveraging the country’s strategic location as a connection point between continents and taking advantage of its growing transportation and logistics infrastructure.
