The Porta Romana 2026 Olympic Village has secured its place among the winners of the prestigious THE PLAN Real Estate Award, sponsored by THE PLAN, in the ESG category (future interventions).

Situated in the southwest area of the railway yard, the Olympic Village is the inaugural phase of the extensive Scalo di Porta Romana urban regeneration project. Designed to host around 1400 Olympic and Paralympic athletes, it will undergo a transformative shift post-Games, becoming student housing. Additionally, it features 10,000 sqm of services intricately connected to the Olympic event, set to evolve into private services for the greater public good.

At Systematica, our collaboration with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and COIMA has been instrumental in shaping the Olympic Village #mobility Master Plan. We took the lead in developing a multi-modal access strategy, ensuring a seamless and high-quality user experience. Our comprehensive consulting services spanned crucial aspects, including transport, vehicular accessibility, public transport, parking and mobility demand, and logistics and delivery strategy.

A synergistic study was undertaken to formulate comprehensive mobility strategies and design solutions, emphasizing the nuanced needs of diverse user demographics within the context of the Olympic scenario. Moreover, the study extended its vision to encompass the post-Olympic legacy scenario, thereby integrating sustainable long-term solutions.

This award underscores our commitment to sustainable urban development and innovative solutions.

The construction work will be completed in July 2025.
