Systematica supported the City of Barranquilla in regenerating its urban fabric and reviewing its urban mobility plans to create a more resilient and sustainable city for a growing population. We conducted a citywide transport analysis, defining the pillars of an integrated multimodal mobility plan and prioritizing recommendations into short-term actions and long-term implementation strategies following the 15-minute city concept.

Lecco, Italy
As part of the team led by Studio Paola Viganò, we oversaw the mobility strategy in line with the project’s vision for harmony between the natural and built environment. Construction ended in 2026, and now the waterfront prioritizes pedestrian accessibility, sustainable mobility, and stronger connections between the city and the lake through expanded public spaces, raised crossings, reduced car speed, and enhanced cycling infrastructure.

Systematica collaborated with BIG to shape the transport strategy for the greater Barranquilla area, expected to grow by 1.5M people by 2100, expanding across 25,000 hectares. We defined a long-term mobility vision and strategic guidelines to support the sustainable expansion of the metropolitan area, using El Hilo di Barranquilla as the public transportation and soft mobility backbone.

It has 112,500sqm of GFA with 570 patients rooms and 24 medical departments.

Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan and the largest city in Central Asia, with a population of over 3M people in 2025. The masterplan revolved around a new internation business center, designed to drive economic growth. We focused on traffic and transport strategies, including accessibility, preliminary road design, circulation and pedestrian movement solutions.

As part of the international design team that won the competition for the Franco-Valdo-Geneva agglomeration, we helped shape the vision for the ecological transition of a 2,000 km² region spanning 212 municipalities. We developed a comprehensive mobility strategy to improve accessibility and multimodality, and reduce the environmental impact of transport for a sustainable, inclusive, and smart future.

With more than 1,000 parking spaces, the Tuscia Shopping Center is a mall located in Viterbo, in a strategic position between the city center and the main road network. Systematica carried out the traffic and mobility engineering studies necessary to support the expansion of the retail area, such as a road network functionality assessment, a parking efficiency survey, and traffic simulations with the S-Paramics® software.

The Scali Ferroviari urban regeneration initiative aims at enriching and expanding Milan’s public realm. Working with CZA, Systematica developed a mobility and logistics strategy with ad hoc solutions for pedestrians and cyclists. The plan boosts public transport through a proposed Circle Line, linking all redeveloped railyards with the city and the wider metropolitan region.

Curno Shopping Centre represents the anchor of the overall Curno Retail Park. The Retail Park is composed by the mall (hosting an Auchan Superstore and 70 minor shops), several other retailers, a multi-screen cinema and office buildings. The Retail Park parking and accessibility system is mainly based on one single road and on Mall’s parking (total capacity of around 2,000 cars) showing some critical points during peak times.

Variante 200 is the latest part of the urban regeneration plan of Turin connected with the embedding of the railway track within the city. Beside the urban regeneration goals, the financial objective of Variante 200 is to finance a share of around 30% of the new subway line M2, an automated light metro which is going to connect the north east with the city centre, and then the far south of the city, running below some of the major and most populated and trafficked urban axis of Turin.

The modernization of the Çapa and Cerrahpaşa medical campuses, located at the heart of Istanbul’s Golden Horn peninsula, was a major urban regeneration initiative. This project aims at studying the problematics of Mobility within a peripheral urban fabric characterised by low density. The major critical issues affecting mobility in a low-density-context are mainly due to 1) the lack of local points of interest and general facilities with mixed-use that can be capable to act as potential hubs, and 2) the scarce permeability of the road network, acting as an impactful barrier for soft modes of mobility.
